Around our casitas in the charming village of Guájar Faragüit, there are plenty of ways to relax and stay cool. Here are our favourite tips for a refreshing summer day.

🏞️ Walking through water – “Los Cahorros del Río Verde”

One of our top summer tips: a river walk through the Río Verde near Otívar. You walk right through clear water, climb rocks and swim in deeper sections – adventurous and wonderfully cooling! It’s a fun, active experience for all ages. Bring water shoes and dry clothes, and you’re good to go.

💧 Natural swimming spot in Guájar Alto

Just 15 minutes’ drive away lies Guájar Alto, a small mountain village with a natural spring-fed pool – a hidden gem! The water is crystal clear and refreshingly cold. Bring a towel and some snacks, and enjoy a peaceful afternoon among locals.

🏖️ Sea breeze – Salobreña & Almuñécar

In just 30 minutes you can be at the Costa Tropical, with beautiful beach towns like Salobreña and Almuñécar. Swim in the sea, relax on the beach or enjoy fresh seafood at a seaside chiringuito. We recommend going early or at sunset – the light is magical and the temperature ideal.

🏡 Cool comfort at Casitas la Cueva

Our casitas are built with thick traditional walls that naturally keep them cool, even on the hottest days. Plus... we have a small pool inside a cave – a unique, tranquil place to cool down.

Local tip: keep the shutters closed during the day, and open everything in the evening when it cools down. Our houses have mosquito screens, so no worries. Cool comfort – no air conditioning needed!

In nearby villages you can taste the real Andalusian lifestyle. Order a lemon slush or a tinto de verano, enjoy cold tapas under the shade of a tree, and let time slow down.
