Authentic stay in the mountain village of Los Guajares.
In the years 2003 and 2006, three ruins were purchased, which would later form the holiday home "La Cueva" in Guájar-Faragüit. After the site was cleaned and ready for rebuilding, the property turned out to be too large for just one house. Therefore, it was decided to create two unique holiday accommodations: La Estrella (for up to 5 people) and El Sol (for up to 4 people). Both houses share the beautiful courtyard garden, the cave pool and the fantastic roof terrace.
The homes are designed in Moorish style, using mainly local materials and soothing colors, and are surrounded by lush vegetation. A real hidden gem! From the patio, which offers a cozy sitting area for each house, you can enter both houses. A few steps lead down to the swimming pool, which is located in a cave (La Cueva), which used to be home to pigs, rabbits and chickens.
The solar-heated swimming pool features an integrated bench with air jets (jacuzzi) – ideal for a refreshing swim! Next to the pool there is an additional bathroom with toilet and shower, as well as a washing machine, iron and ironing board, which can be used by all guests. There are also umbrellas and beach chairs ready for you to take to the beach.
A spiral staircase leads to the large (100 m²) roof terrace, which is south facing. Here you can enjoy the breathtaking view over the Los Guajares mountain range, which separates us from the sea.

Even before our marriage in 2005, it was clear that we wanted to settle abroad to fully embrace life and enjoy each other’s company. In 2013, we made the move with our son to the Caribbean island of Bonaire, where we’ve happily lived for almost 12 years.
In 2024, we rediscovered the Spanish coast and found a hidden gem in the charming mountain village of Guájar-Faragüit: Casitas La Cueva. With great enthusiasm, we continue to run the holiday rental of these unique homes, and we cherish the enthusiastic reactions of our guests, who make our life in Spain feel like a "fiesta", every day.

At the entrance to the village, next to the bar/restaurant "La Parada," is a small grocery store. Another bar is only open on weekends. The village also has a bakery, a tobacconist, a post office, a pharmacy, and a health center. A stone's throw from the house is a small square where various shopkeepers stop at various times. When you hear the horn, the vendor calls out: "Come and buy!" The baker comes up to three times a day, and the fishmonger is regularly there around lunchtime.
